host fees went up almost 10x in 2021

Setup an account as a Host to rent my first property. They blocked access to the $499 subscription model for my account, and my only option was to give them 8% of each booking... 8%! that's almost double of Airbnb and far more than any other website. Customer service said that it was in response to COVID, whatever that means. They have no documentation of this change anywhere, so I was completely blindsided. If I earn $40k in rental fees for the year, instead of paying $499 I now have to pay $3200. Yeah, no.UPDATE - I called in to VRBO and spoke to someone in customer service who was very helpful, and she activated the option to get the $499 subscription. Thank you so much! Rating changed to 5 stars!

My husband and I are very happy with them

My husband and I have used VRBO for several vacation rentals over the years in different part of the country. The service has always been prompt, courteous and easy to use online. The rental properties have been just like described and the photos were accurate. So far, the quality and cleanliness of the rentals have been excellent. We will continue to use VRBO and I would, and have, recommended them to others.

VRBO - awful for hosts, fine for renters

From a renter standpoint, I find VRBO totally fine. Have rented from here several times with no issues. But as a home owner trying to list on VRBO, this site is lucky to get 1 star. Have no idea why I can't get my listing live. AirBnB was super easy and got live in a day. VRBO's system is super dated and antiquated. So I responded to the "dedicated support rep" they assigned us, and she said to contact customer support. hahaha why assign someone to me. Tried to reach out to chat support and they ended chat as soon as I asked the question. Things are going swimmingly. I find it amusing when I want to give a company my business and they make it so difficult. Maybe I'll just stick with AirBnB

VRBO cancelled on arrival to PR

We arrived in Puerto Rico to discover our vrbo was cancelled due to electrical issues. It took over an hour on the phone due to dropped calls and we were initially very frustrated, but eventually we were referred to the rebooking group. This group was very supportive and quickly arranged free housing for 2 nights while something more permanent was found. They also touched base twice the first night to make sure we were safe and explained the next steps. After the first night, we were unhappy with the temporary housing and were unable to find anything acceptable at our original cost (it was spring break week) so we ended up booking a more expensive unit. VRBO provided us instructions for requesting reimbursement for the extra cost and within hours of submitting the request, we were reimbursed. Thankfully the extra cost was within the reimbursement limit. We were impressed with the Rebooking group and the ease of the reimbursement process.

Read the fine print before booking

Read the fine print before booking, on a whole it was a nice place with easy access to many things but little things added up annoying us such as strip our own beds and bag up all laundry, empty all the garbage cans, didn’t supply Kleenex, hand soap for kitchen, more than 1 roll of tp and hairdryers, toaster only toasted one side, we had to hang curtains that were stuffed in a closet, shower door off the track. Previous renters clothing was left in dryer.

True to its word.

I made a recent reservation using this service. Unfortunately, I had a change of plan. After reading reviews, I was concern if I would receive a full. But, Vrbo provided a full refund, as termed in the agreement. Being the case, I have no reservations of using the service again.
