Bad computers but great monitors! Love the price/performance!

I am compelled to write my own review with my recent purchase on Dell.com. Seeing all of these negative reviews after I made my purchase was indeed concerning and frustrating. I purchased my new Dell XPS 13 9380 on February 28, 2019, and got my customized laptop delivered on March 9. Couple of issues: when I inquired with online chat support on how long their sale on XPS 13's would be, they replied with the proper answer, but then became interesting where they asked if I was financing. I said I was paying with another credit card to earn miles, and then the representative inquire how many miles I was earning. That was a bit unprofessional but I laughed and closed the chat session. Second issue was the concept of "express shipping". As you know, Dell has 3 tiers of shipping methods: express, expedited and standard. When I got my delivery email with tracking number, to my surprise my laptop was being shipped "FedEx Ground", even after paying $25! Immediately I contact online chat to discuss and was approved a credit on my delivery charges as I insisted that express shipping is not FedEx ground. What shipping method is used for expedited then? Customer service would not answered which I find interesting. Other than that, my laptop arrived in good shape, came when it was supposed to come, and my Dell XPS13 9380 is a beauty and rocking machine. I've owned 2 Dell XPS13's prior to this and this was my first time ordering directly with dell.com. I did purchase an extended warranty and knock on wood that I won't have to use it. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the entire experience. Just note it will take a few days from the time you place an order through the time your order is delivered.

Our son's laptop's casing broke. Rang Dell, they sent their repairer Kenny the next day, replaced the part for free. Brilliant service.

I like the build quality of laptops but something seems to always not work. The touchpad is flakey or Wifi disconnects, etc. I have had 3 Dell laptops and finally decided to switch to MSI.

I recently purchased a new dell laptop as my backup since my mac is beginning to wear. I am extremely impressed with how easy it is to use from transitioning from apple to dell. Although, some aspects about this laptop cannot beat the mac. (such as; the keyboard is better quality and so is the filings).For my use, this laptop is capable for everyday notes or emails.For more complicated work I would recommend a mac book pro over a dell as they handle the workload well.

In my company everyone is provided a dell laptop (signed a contatc to receive native laptops for sociaty needs). everyone is very satisfied. I bought a present for my friend - laptop dell and at the end from the first day of work it's bugging, stopping, making too much noise and turning off itself. feel guilty infront of my friend((((At the same time in office all laptops work perfectly fine

I don't know what's worse, the products they push out that are virtually incompatible with basic upgrades or their tech support. Like RAM. BIOS, TMP, Spec sheet, manual, all show 2933MHz cards. Went to upgrade the RAM and the card in there is actually 3200MHz, at least on the label on one card, the other card doesn't have a label at all. Yet the RAM item number on my spec sheet shows a completely different card that is neither. Dell couldn't, or wouldn't answer a single question about what's going on, or what I could do to upgrade, aside from asking me to buy from Dell. They said 'The reason why the card supports 2933 MHz could be that the RAM supports this much speed' Thanks bud. I actually corrected the grammar in his response so it's readable. He asked me to send pics of the card itself on Google Drive, which I did. He kept trying to confirm that I took the card out (to void the warranty) and I didn't. Saw the card, took a pic and stopped. Still no answer, just told me what the BIOS says, which I also took a screenshot of and showed him prior. He asked 4 more times for me to send a pic of the card so he could 'investigate' Round and round we go, for 5 hours. Even as I'm writing this review I got another message asking me to send a pic of the card. On a good note, the computer gets so hot I could heat up my whole house and save money on my electric bill. Without question the first and last Dell product I ever purchase, there's too many good options out there are clear about what they're giving you and that give you the liberty to upgrade how you want it (within spec). After all you bought it, you own it. Next stop, BBBUpdate: A supervisor reviewed my ticket/case and was nice enough to at least reach out, answer my questions as best he could and give me some clarity about the situation, all in one simple, detailed and clear response.
