Viki is a great idea but could improve a lot. I subscribed after not being able to tolerate all the ads. Some of the translations are very questionable. I can say that if a run across a company that does the same thing better, I would probably switch over.

I really do love Viki! There are some amazing dramas both Korean, Japanese and Chinese all with Subtitles. If you are a paid member (very cheap price) you get to watch in great quality and with no ads at all. I have only once ever had a server issue but this happens with all companies. I really do recommend and the small investment is well worth it.

I have the free Rakuten Viki app on our Firestick. I don't mind the commercials as a rule but when am watching the shows and have to reset 30 times in 2 hour time block, it gets a little frustrating! The Smith & Wesson commercials continuously freeze upBut the show selection is pretty good...

People seem to complain a lot about Viki because you have to "Pay" for most of the shows/movies on there but it cost less than Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. If you like Asian dramas then it's worth getting the pass to watch as many as you want. I haven't had to contact them because everything has been great from my side, I do mostly watch on my computer/laptop and rarely on my phone so maybe there is an issue there? I don't find it's slow at all unless I've been on the same tab for hours but that happens on any website. I just refresh the page and it's back to streaming normally.When you buy a year subscription I'm sure it says that it's non-refundable so people should take more care into reading the agreement/contract because if you look over it then you're at fault as the company has stated their conditions.Especially if you're buying a year, please read the conditions carefully.They even state that plans will differ depending on your region but that's common for every other website as well. There's different laws and licenses for each country and it's unfair to expect them to have everything unlocked everywhere. No website can do that.Waiting for subs can be annoying but there's a separate team of subbers for each tv show/movie so it's not Viki themselves who are doing it but subbers who are doing it for the benefit for others and are doing it for free. But honestly, you can't always expect foreign shows to have subtitles right away, it's unnecessary and privileged. If you want to know everything they're saying then learn the language. Viki does have an international audience so maybe they should handle the subtitles on their videos but since the fans are willing to do it, why would they add that expense? They are a business trying to make as much profit as possible just like every other company out there.I'm happy with my experience and would totally recommend it. I believe the subbing teams work hard and people don't have to subtitle videos but they do so I'm very appreciative of that.

I like to agree with avocado I am now experiencing the same problem.Can somebody help me out I am a senior citizen and I am not an expert with the computer. Please how can I get in touch with a human. I am so afraid to make big mistake on the computer and I would not know how to correct it. Can somebody at viki help me in person instead of having to scroll through all the questions I am 76 yrs of age

i love viki and use it as my primary streaming channel for asian dramas. i don't understand all the bad reviews. i guess most people only comment, when they have something bad to say. viki is meant as a language learning portal, so you can chose learning mode and get subtitles in both english and the language of the drama. with the learning mode, you can pause the drama and click on the words subtitled and see the romanization of the word, how to pronounce it and sometimes also click and hear a voice pronouncing it. though it's a little too bad that it's not every drama that has the learning mode option. i really like the series they have on there. and i a overall really pleased with the site.

Viki has been excellent. Only reason why it's a 4 star instead of 5 is all the good shows I wanted to watch is not shown in my region. I live in Guam near all the asian countries, Korea, Philippines, Japan, etc., so why can't I get it. They should find a way to expand to these areas where so many koreans live here too.

Just like what everybody here is saying, I've been a standard viki subscriber for 3 yrs, and last 2 days ago ads started appearing while watching The Wolf only to find out they want me to switch to viki plus !!! Viki has been my go to destressors for a long time especially now that Covid19 is here. I am an avid fan chinese wuxia films/tv series, and some korean Historical Movies. It now cost 9.95 per month but hey the enjoyment and excitement I got from watching good shows are priceless !!!This keeps my sanity intact during these trying times...now am waiting for the premiere of Legend Of Fei with Wang Yibo ! I really used Viki because of the "learn mode" more than anything - and as a result was a huge fan. But for quite a while now the Korean has been seriously out of sync - and we're not talking about a few days. It's EXTREMELY easy to watch almost any korean drama on the internet, including those over 10 years old, and as a result of the out of sync learn mode I'm now drifting away. A shame, as I regarded it as quite innovative, but if they're that lax over something I regard as quite important, I can watch subtitled Korean dramas anywhere.

Rakuten Viki is using aave(African American Vernacular English) I love Viki but I don’t like that it’s using aave to get attention aave is something my people need to make because in slavery people didn’t want to teach them English because they thought they couldn’t learn because of their skin color and people still hate on us for it but people that is not African they make career for using aave and that is really sad and they aave thing Viki is using is that they write a word then use the clapping emoji then write a word again then use a emoji again and keep going with it and many African women have been made fun of for doing that and I hope Viki will stop doing it because it’s offense me that you guys will use something my people have been made fun of for do
