I have the free Rakuten Viki app on our Firestick. I don't mind the commercials as a rule but when am watching the shows and have to reset 30 times in 2 hour time block, it gets a little frustrating! The Smith & Wesson commercials continuously freeze upBut the show selection is pretty good...

I love Viki, I use it on the daily on my phone, smart tv, iPad etc. but there are a View things I dislike. 1. New update has you scrolling from the top every time you click on a show and go back. Before you can scroll for a show and when you hit back, it’ll go back to the same spot you left on. Annoying 2. It doesn’t allow multiple log ins. If I log in on my phone; it’ll log me out of my tv, etc. 3. It doesn’t save my last episode from the show I’m watching. This is the most annoying update because if I watch on my phone then go home to watch from my tv, I have to search my episode and go to the time I left off on. 4. When fast forwarding, there should be a display of what scene your fast forwarding to. Similar to Netflix. 5. My tv doesn’t show the folder I created on my phone. I have all my saved shows on my phone but on my tv, there’s nothing. Also updating on the tv is almost non existent. Those are my cons with Viki. I wish they would bring back drama fever or Asian crush had more to choose from but Viki should take these reviews to heart.

I really used Viki because of the "learn mode" more than anything - and as a result was a huge fan. But for quite a while now the Korean has been seriously out of sync - and we're not talking about a few days. It's EXTREMELY easy to watch almost any korean drama on the internet, including those over 10 years old, and as a result of the out of sync learn mode I'm now drifting away. A shame, as I regarded it as quite innovative, but if they're that lax over something I regard as quite important, I can watch subtitled Korean dramas anywhere.

For the people who are comparing Netflix with Viki [which show ONLY Asian shows] get off there forehead, well uh duh there going to pay you to watch some of the most popular TV shows you don't just get things for free. On Netflix you have to pay no matter what, and on Viki at least they have some shows that are free and are very great to binge watch if you don't have money like me then you can enjoy a lot all you got to do is be patience and during those adds you can take the numbero 2 or you can prepare a snack its not hard. stop bringing NEGATIVE comments!!!!!

Viki has been excellent. Only reason why it's a 4 star instead of 5 is all the good shows I wanted to watch is not shown in my region. I live in Guam near all the asian countries, Korea, Philippines, Japan, etc., so why can't I get it. They should find a way to expand to these areas where so many koreans live here too.

People seem to complain a lot about Viki because you have to "Pay" for most of the shows/movies on there but it cost less than Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. If you like Asian dramas then it's worth getting the pass to watch as many as you want. I haven't had to contact them because everything has been great from my side, I do mostly watch on my computer/laptop and rarely on my phone so maybe there is an issue there? I don't find it's slow at all unless I've been on the same tab for hours but that happens on any website. I just refresh the page and it's back to streaming normally.When you buy a year subscription I'm sure it says that it's non-refundable so people should take more care into reading the agreement/contract because if you look over it then you're at fault as the company has stated their conditions.Especially if you're buying a year, please read the conditions carefully.They even state that plans will differ depending on your region but that's common for every other website as well. There's different laws and licenses for each country and it's unfair to expect them to have everything unlocked everywhere. No website can do that.Waiting for subs can be annoying but there's a separate team of subbers for each tv show/movie so it's not Viki themselves who are doing it but subbers who are doing it for the benefit for others and are doing it for free. But honestly, you can't always expect foreign shows to have subtitles right away, it's unnecessary and privileged. If you want to know everything they're saying then learn the language. Viki does have an international audience so maybe they should handle the subtitles on their videos but since the fans are willing to do it, why would they add that expense? They are a business trying to make as much profit as possible just like every other company out there.I'm happy with my experience and would totally recommend it. I believe the subbing teams work hard and people don't have to subtitle videos but they do so I'm very appreciative of that.

Yes subbing is slow because Viki ia not just an Asian drama site, it's also a language learning tool where volunteers can practice their subbing/translating skills -- a form or crowd-sourcing translations. It helps offset cost of shows as Viki is not paying for the translations and can get more shows instead. I have also found the quality of translations is good and better than some sites.After reviewing all the pass levels I knew i wanted access to all their dramas and not face any locked ones so i pay the premium with Kocowa access (note: some shows still dont show on Viki that are on Kocowa which sucks but i dont find its worth it to get a kocowa sub as Viki still offers more.) So i did not feel the pain of having to uograde but can definitely understand that frustration. Its just a different subscription type then Netflix where you upgrade because you want full quality HD or more users viewing on your account -- Vikis subcriptios are based on what content you can access.The flaws I see with Viki are:1) No download capability to watch offline -- which i love with Netflix and (RIP) Dramafever.2) Subs do take a longer time 3) Wish they posted when shows expire for each region. Was watching a show and then i got a warning that it was unavailable the next day. Posting when licenses expire is an easy way of letting subscribers know what to watch first. Im okay with their plans and overall happy with their service as I've been a subscriber over a year now. I watch more on Viki than i do on Netflix and have recommended it to others who have ended up subscribing.As an aside -- I would rather watch shows on Viki then on free sites since some of them are not trust worthy and im always afraid of getting a virus.

Viki was great and i had no issues with it at all, until they made the new update, which ruined the overall experience with the app and website. I feel like they should change it back to how it used to be, as small things such as the screen have become annoying and irritating. however, it's still a great app/website and I appreciate how have made most dramas free for public use, I just wish it would go back to how it used to be.

Just like what everybody here is saying, I've been a standard viki subscriber for 3 yrs, and last 2 days ago ads started appearing while watching The Wolf only to find out they want me to switch to viki plus !!! Viki has been my go to destressors for a long time especially now that Covid19 is here. I am an avid fan chinese wuxia films/tv series, and some korean Historical Movies. It now cost 9.95 per month but hey the enjoyment and excitement I got from watching good shows are priceless !!!This keeps my sanity intact during these trying times...now am waiting for the premiere of Legend Of Fei with Wang Yibo ! Thanks Viki !!

Would love to see more shows that are actually on over in korea!!! Like the new variety show called naturally and the new one with defconn!!! I pay for this app i should be able to get more content than what i do!!!!
