Maybe there is a three week delay for the books, but the shipments are usually international and this compensates us with low shipping rates. I bought books from Abe that in other online stores would have cost me 60 percent more. It was my first try and the reviews were not in favour of this website but yet I gave it a try and was not disappointed at all. The shipping was fast and the books were in great condition and I thank the seller and he was really nice. Good job. Keep it up.

All three books I ordered arrived within the end of September and they were in acceptable condition, except one, with pages sticking to each other, but considering how much I paid it, it's OK.---------------------------------------------------Since it was my first order, I purchased three unexpensive books on 4th September 2021. The most expensive was 4 € and for all three books, the shipping was more expensive than the books. At this stage, I haven't received anything yet, even if the first book should have been delivered last week. Obviously, this is going to be my first and last order and I am glad I did not buy anything expensive but only cheap books.

Surprised so many bad review. Make your payments through paypal for buyer protection. But I made a huge order of 10+ books alot of different sellers. I received all orders, some did come a little late.I just had one issue, one book was the wrong book, but I got in contact with seller and that got fixed, sucks for the wait tho. As far as trust goes, abe books is legit, the sellers and customer service might be iffy but abe books itself is a legit service. If I had an issue come up, PayPal buyer protection is really good! This goes for all sites that use it.

AbeBooks is good and bad... AbeBooks is a bookseller portal website to display many booksellers' catalogs to large numbers of buyers. AbeBooks represents a lot of sellers. Most are pretty good, and some are pretty bad. AbeBooks does the following well:1) Display purchasing options for very large numbers of books including collectible books;2) Facilitate a purchase reliably and securely;3) Track returns and refunds better than any other bookseller portal.AbeBooks does the following poorly:1) Weed out unreliable sellers - 1-star sellers may have 3 or 4 stars, and they should be removed from AbeBooks;2) Respond to customer support issues - days for an e-mail response, and no phone number to call.

As an admitted, shameless bibliophile & biblioholic, Abe Books has been my life-line. Reminds me SO much of my earlier years of dedicated days of wandering the once-many small book shops in some of the most remote corners of NYC with dearest of friends. The service, selections, browsing, ease of finding what I'm looking for, bargains, beyond compare. And the conditions of the books I've received is astoundingly celebratory! I couldn't imagine living with-out Abe.With-in the past 6 moths, I've purchased about 15 books, perhaps more, I don't keep track. Amongst them, "Complete Chronicles of Narnia", several by Kafka, a difficult-to-find, special edition of "Resurrection" by Tolstoy, several by JD Salinger, & more. Most books are paper-back and have arrived in perfect condition, spines absolutely perfect, better quality & condition than my experiences with the likes of Barnes & Noble & other stores I've actually gone into. And the prices? Can't be compared! I'm re-building an old library that meant the world to me & was literally stolen. Broke my heart. But thanks to Abe, I have my "friends" back. And I must say, especially in view of some of the difficulties expressed by others here, I can understand their disappointments but in all fairness, Abe sends orders out to other book-stores & yes, I've had similar negative experiences when dealing directly with those. Some people are simply irresponsible, negligent, apathetic mercenaries. But contacting Abe patiently & politely has resulted in nothing but satisfaction. I simply note the seller's name, make certain to NEVER order from them & with Abe being "Abe", I've NO trouble finding another seller. (Example: "Narnia"... I asked the seller about the copy, never got a response. Abe notified the seller who ignore Abe as well. Subsequently, I found a copy from a different seller, about 2$ less and the volume I received was "fresh off the press" condition.) My suggestion: Don't review Abe based on the inferiority of others, review the seller.

Best Books! I couldnt be happier with a company. The books I order come quickly, often as not appear to be new despite being graded as good and best of all low prices. If you're having difficulties finding a book try Abes! Amazing just amazing. I ve ordered about five books so far and just great. I buy my books only from Abes. Try em I think youl be pleased you did.
