Service Fantastic/Long Wait

It took many tries to get through to them. Chat showed an 300 minute wait after trying to connect 50-60 times. I waited about 45 minutes on the phone for them. I had a non-refundable condo booked. Vista Cay by Orlando Resort Rentals called me and said they were offering free cancellations and full refunds, but I would have to call Hotels.com. Once I connected with a representative they verified the information with the resort and issued the refund.Just keep trying and be patient. Its a trying time for everyone.

Fantastic Customer Service

A family emergency come up, which caused me to cancel a hotel reservation. At first the hotel said they would not issue a refund, but after talking with Babylyn in the online chat, she was able to contact the hotel and get me a full refund. I have used Hotels.com in the past to get some great prices on my bookings, but I'll certainly use them even more in the future now that I know how great their customer service is.Thanks again, Babylyn!

Great customer service

We book many hotels with Hotels.com. This week we planned a couple of nights in Toronto. The hotel we chose had good reviews but when we got there we had a different experience. The hotel staff was friendly but we had reserved a cot and a crib and was told we could not have a cot, which made our stay impossible. The room was dirty. The sheets were dirty, when we requested clean sheets. The hotel staff brought them and handed them over not even offering to change them. We immediately called Hotels.com to see what could be done. The customer service representative was very apologetic. She kept updated me while she was speaking to the hotel and I was on hold. She then offered to call me back. When the hotel wouldn't help in any way or even offer to refund our cancellation for the following night. Hotels.com gave me a credit to stay somewhere else. I would highly recommend them. My only complaint would be that it was sometimes difficult to hear and understand the representative. Overall I was very happy with their service.

We have been long term customers of…

We have been long term customers of hotels.com, and for the most part, it has not been too bad, hence the reason we have been long term...but we have definitely experienced some hiccups for sure!The hiccup of today is what drove me to this rating page...we have a booking for tonight, Went online today just to get directions for our stay tonight, only to find out that if we were booking today, rather than a few months ago as the responsible people that we are, we would be saving a ton of money. I called in to Customer Service, expecting that there would be some sort of price match---but nope. I am literally one day late to be able to do that, according to their "terms and conditions"...I asked to speak to a supervisor, expecting that surely more could be done...Surprising that for LONG TIME CUSTOMERS such as we are, there is no loophole offered to folks like me who go the extra effort to call in and request help. So, I guess we just end up paying extra money. Now I know one of the ways in which they stay in business. I rated this as "average" because we have had some good experiences...but yes, "average" describes this company at this point, since like so many other companies out there, goodwill is not the first order of the day, but the almighty dollar.Adding to this a little later---I get that there are policies in place. Clearly, I did not know as I have never had reason to need to delve deeply into their "Price Match Guarantee" policy before...but I think at the very least they could adopt a "grace point" policy as well, for first time/unaware instances like this with long time customers who make the effort to call in and ask for help. I have a small business, and I have offered Grace extras on so many occasions, because it is the right thing to do. After that, people for sure know how whatever system you have operates, but they will also remember your kindness. Obviously, I now know that it would be good to go to the website at least one day before booking to make sure price has not lowered! But this lesson is costing me $50 for no real reason other than red tape and corporate policy---despite my having used this website for YEARS. and, this lesson has made me more cautious/mistrusting of hotels.com

Never a bad experience in ten years. Wonderful.

In reading the reviews here I was astounded—it was as if it’s a different company than the hotels.com I’ve booked w for a decade-plus. I would not book any other way. I’ve never had an unpleasant experience and have felt the reps go out of their way to resolve any issue or change.

This is a great company

This is a great company! Unlike booking.com, vrbo.com and many many other websites hotels.com actually tell you the full price, including taxes and resort fees. I get so frustrated going through the booking process on other sites, only to find out at the very last screen that the price is $350 instead of $150. I did have one hotel that said I hadn't paid when I had and the hotels.com customer helpdesk sorted the problem out for me and called the hotel for me. Great site. Great service.

Hotels.com amazing - impeccable service and customer care

Used hotels.com many times and always been happy. Recently their customer care and assistance was amazing. Started with the fantastic associate MJ on live chat ( such a convenient way to communicate! ). He promised me a resolution within 24-48hours which was delivered in a dat and 100% to my satisfaction. I’m not sure why there’s * reviews as I’ve always been more than happy and this most recent experience I am ecstatic!Hotels.com are the best!!

I had made plans to visit family in Indiana for the holidays, but today ended up in the hospital with a heart issue. Hotels.com came through for me - within 30 minutes!

I had a reservation at a Loews that was pre-paid and non-refundable for 3/21-3/27, had to cancel due to COVID-19. Loews updated its policy to give full refund on reservations through 4/30, but stated that third party bookings needed to be contacted directly. Called Hotels.com a few times over the past several days and got the "technical difficulties" message, but finally got through and into the queue this morning. Waited 28 minutes, was connected, reservation cancelled, and given a full refund after agent contacted Loews to verify. Expecting "normal" response time during these extraordinary times when the world is turned upside down and inside out is unreasonable. Be patient folks! I will continue using Hotels.com without reservation (pun intended).
