edX is an excellent platform for learning and many courses are at a better level than that of public universities. I would recommend everyone to take advantage of edX.Regarding edX itself, the materials and videos are mostly very good. But I would recommend improving the QA forum sections a bit. Also, the upload system for hand-in assignments should be improved. For example, it is said to upload multiple files in the assignment, but you can only upload one single file, for what you need to choose a zip format. Either improve towards using zips as standardized containers for hand-ins or make it possible to upload multiple files. Nevertheless, I really enjoy edX and would like to see a growing catalog of subjects especially in the professional certificate section (e.g. Communication Technology) or the micro-master section. Because a series of courses always stands out from a single encounter.To the edX Team, keep it going. This is a great project and only by knowledge humanity can advance. So take advantage of technology and lets share knowledge with the world!

edx is a professional, modern, motivating and inspiring platform for education in so many different areas, which can be either of personal interest or essential for future career development. Being able to work on a PC but also via the app makes it easy and convenient. I very much enjoyed learning with edx. Their customer support deserves 5 stars.

I am currently taking The History of politics taught by Prof Foner at Columbia U. I have learned quite a bit. I love how his course is set up. I am retired and someone told me about this, I am currently auditing. But I love how he presents the info. Thank you!!!

edX offers me the possibility of continued learning from the best universities around the world. As a psychologist, I can specialize my domain at any moment, anywhere with my mobile or labtop. It is just great ! I learned more there with great professors than during my master's degree in my Belgian university, where a lot of time was waisted attending the course, being present. Here with edX, at midnight or at the airport, in a train, in the car you can listen the clases. Also you feel taking part of a beautiful multidiverse community. You share more afterwards with events and seminars, meeting those wonderful and nice persons, those fantastic professors with their leadership competences and who make you meet their environment, and other people.It is so great that posibility of micromaster or even MBA online for people like me who doesn't want to waste time but who want to be a continued learner. My courses were Business leadership from UQueensland and Sciences of Happiness at work BerkeleyUC, also Data analysis. Such amazing experience I won't forget !

Excellent course on Agile management. I would prefer to have a different teachter once a while. The teaching style could be varied as well. F

Good introduction to techniques applicable to any negotiation situation.

The content I learned was tremendously helpful, and the learning material I received put me on the right path to completing my courses. The fact that the courses give you content that would otherwise be extremely expensive is a blessing.

edX was the first MOOC provider that I used; Coursera being the other, a bit later. I've completed about 20 courses on edX, getting good marks between 90% and 100%.Microsoft used to provide very good courses on edX, including ones on SQL Server, Analysis Services, Integration Services, Power BI, and Excel. These were relevant to my work. Unfortunately, Microsoft has pulled out and these courses are no longer available. Microsoft has changed its focus more to cloud services in Azure and Microsoft 365 and is doing its own training courses. (My business partner is doing some of the writing for Microsoft Docs.)I've done three courses of a MicroMasters program "Internet of Things" by Curtin University, which is really good. I want to finish that one day. I had a bit of an argument with Curtin when they tried to close one course a week earlier than published. I won the argument and was able to finish the course, but it left a bit of a bad taste. If I had not argued my case, I would have lost my money and would have had to repeat the course. edX was no help in this dispute. To Curtin: just try being nice to your MOOC students.Most recently, I did a course by University of Tokyo, which I really liked. I'm learning Japanese language and so am interested in Japan and Japanese culture. The course was about the geo-history of Tokyo, which is the largest city in the world. Professor Shunya Yoshimi gives a guided tour of Tokyo, interspersed with lectures, pointing out places of historical interest hidden amongst the modern buildings. (I liked the Ana Inari shrine with stone foxes outside.)I tried a Japanese language course by Waseda University, but that wasn't much good. It tries to use immersion techniques rather like Rosetta Stone, but I don't find that at all effective. (Coincidentally, I've had two language teachers on italki, who both graduated from Waseda, which is a private university in Tokyo.)I think it's so amazing being able to do online courses from top universities around the world. On the downside, edX support was no help when I had a dispute with Curtin University and I got the impression that MOOC students are regarded as rather second-class citizens.Just recently, edX has been bought by 2U and it's unclear what will happen. People are saying this might be the end of edX. I hope not.
